Sateash Berge
Where were you born: Madison WI
What is your profession?: Personal Trainer

How and when did you get involved into lifting weights?: I was 14 and my parents bought me an olympic weight set and I started training for high school sports. I fell in love with lifting and found out I was actually pretty good at it!
Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body?: I had never thought to compete in a show, I ran into a girl in college who suggested that I enter a show so I asked Debi Lezweski who lived in Madison at the time, to help me prep for the show. I entered a show that year.

Please describe a typical day in the life of Sateash Berge.: Wake up (coffee!!!), get my son ready, make a plan of attack for the multiple different avenues I need to juggle for that day, execute the plan of attack while running 100mph through my day (enjoying every minute while having a cup of coffee in my hand), serve those the Lord gives me on that day, honor the people God places in my path, love the children He sends my way and then wrap up the day with some cartoons with my son
Please tell me something about your daily training routine.: Currently: one hour cardio upon waking, weights later in the day, one more hour of cardio after weights
What are the main differences when you train for a competition and in off-season? FOOOD!!! and I get to lift a lot heavier in the off-season because I’m not as afraid of getting injured. I love to lift heavy and I still am able to while dieting, I just don’t want to chance anything.
If you don’t mind would you give me some stats (best lifts and some body measurements)?: (these will change very soon when I am done dieting )
Leg Press = 1245lbs for 10 reps
Dumbell Incline Chest Press = 90lb for 4 reps
Flat Dumbell Chest press = 90lb for 7 reps
Preacher curl with ez curl bar = 115lb for 8 reps
Measurements: Legs: 26 inches
Biceps: 16 inches
Calves: 17 inches
Which bodypart is your best in your opinion? My legs: they are the most predominant.
What is your favorite exercise in the gym and which one you don’t like so much?
Favorite = Pendlays (like a bent over row, but more of a power movement – I’ve done 225lbs while dieting so I can’t wait to see what happens in the off-season!)
Least favorite – ARMS! I hate working arms, it is such a repetitive movement!
Please tell me about what else you are doing when you don’t work out:
I love anything to do with the arts and creativity. Whether it’s music, architecture, books, plays, musicals, anything. Mostly my number one favorite thing to do is spend time with those I love, my family and friends.
